How to attach Tsuru to your Yumi.

How to attach Tsuru to your Yumi.

What to prepare.

Yumi

Yumaki or Cushions.

An important point when attaching the Tsuru to the Yumi.

Do not mount the Tsuru with the Yumi directly against the wall or floor.

This will damage the wall or post.

If you have someone to help you, please ask them to hold the Yumi.

When done by one person.

Thus, place a Yumaki or cushion where the floor and the wall are in contact.

Twist the Tsuru slightly in the direction the Tsuru is twisted.

The Tsuru is then attached to the Yumi.

Lift the Yumi slightly.

The height of the lift will vary according to your size and stiffness.

Without moving the left hand, lift the Yumi upwards with the right hand.

It is important to lift with the right hand, not lower with the left.

If you push down with your left hand, the Yumi will break.

Lift up, sit back and place the Yumi on your left thigh.

Attach the Tsuru to the Yumi.

Yes, I was able to attach the Tsuru to the Yumi.

Once the Tsuru has been attached to the Yumi, remove the foot while it is still in place.

Do not draw the Yumi immediately after attaching the Tsuru to the Yumi.

If you draw the Yumi too soon it will break, so do some preparatory exercises to make the Yumi and Tsuru a little more familiar.

Thank you for reading to the end.

I am happy to help anyone who wants to play Kyudo.

How to prepare Tenouchi

 How to prepare Tenouchi

What to prepare.

Yumi

Here are some tips on how to prepare your Tenouchi.

There is a line written on my palm.

This is where the Yumi is supported.

It is not a grip with the whole palm of the hand.

Bend the palm of your hand like this.
This causes wrinkles in the palm of the hand.

This crease is placed on the Mato side edge in front of the Yumi.

The Yumi is supported by the little finger, ring finger and middle finger.

This is not a grip.

On the back side of the hand, the joint is parallel to the Yumi.

This is the correct state of Tenouchi.

If you hold the Yumi, the joints do not line up as neatly as this.

This is the state in which Tenouchi has been prepared.

It's difficult to start from the beginning, so please practice little by little.

I recommend that you practice just holding the Yumi and drawing like this.

This way you can concentrate only on Tenouchi.

With Tenouchi in place, I'll try to release Tsuru.

This is how the Yumi is turned over.
Please prepare your Tenouchi and practice drawing the Yumi lightly to get a feel for it.

Common mistakes.

If you hold the Yumi, it will not turn over.

Then Tsuru hits the left arm.

It's difficult, but you have to practice.

You will be able to do it.

Thank you for reading to the end.

How to wear the Hakama.

 How to wear the Hakama.

What to prepare.

Hakama that suits you.

Note that there is one for men and one for women.

Points to Keep in Mind When Wearing Hakama.

When putting on your hakama, you should wear it with the Ashibumi in place.

The middle of the hakama should be in the middle of your right and left legs.
If you do not keep it in the middle, it will not be beautiful and it will interfere with the Sya.

Hold the Hakama string and tighten it to secure the two ends of the obi.
The Hakama string also helps to prevent the obi from loosening.

Tie the strings of the hakama over the obi.

After tying the cord, lift the cord like this.
Now the Obi is fixed.
If Obi is loose, you can't concentrate on Sya.
The next step is to work on your front.

Wrap the cord held to the left slightly below the waistband.
Wrap it around the folds of the hakama to hold them in place.

The cord in your right hand should be wrapped in the same way, slightly below the waistband.
Again, keep the folds of the hakama from opening.

Bring the cord to your back and tie it in a knot, this time supporting the bottom of the obi.
Fix the obi so that it does not fall out again.

After tying the string, hold both ends of the obi and pull it upwards.
This will ensure that the obi does not come loose.
It's that easy.

Insert the spatula attached to the hakama into the top of the obi.

This is how it looks like.

Lift the back of the hakama and bring it to your waist.
The height of each side should be the same.

Lift the hakama by the ties.

The string is tied in this lifted position.

The waistband should match the lower part of the cord that has just been wrapped, not the waistband.

Wrap around the bottom string, overlapping it.

Finally, the knot is tied so that it overlaps the knot of the obi.
This way the obi will not loosen and the hakama will not fall down.

The knot should be tied inside the hakama.
Do not tie it on the outside.

Lightly tap the knot with a slap.
The bulge will disappear.

It is finished.
It takes some time to get used to, but you should wear it beautifully.
Please practice while watching the video and checking this article for the key points.

For beginners in Kyudo.
