First, let's practice the Shaho Hassetsu of Kyudo with your body before holding the bow. 
The details can come later. Start with Ashibumi, then imagine lifting the bow, drawing it widely to the left and right, and releasing the arrow. 
This is a great way to learn through visualization training.
I believe this is also effective as a warm-up exercise for Kyudo.
